We are pleased to announce the results for the Language Perfect World Championships that took place earlier in the year. Congratulations to everyone who participated: this year. The school was ranked 46th globally out of 1,476 schools. 733,336,601 questions were answered by BPC students. We placed 4th in Victoria for a school of our size category.
Congratulations to the bronze and credit award winners, who will receive their certificates in level assemblies.
Buckley Park College celebrated Languages Week from Monday the 30th of July to Friday the 3rd of August, which meant many exciting lunchtime activities were held throughout the school to encourage students to learn about German and Japanese cultures.
First on Monday was the assembly to award the Language Perfect high award winners followed by the chopstick challenge under the flagpole. Tuesday we had Anime Club and German hair braiding. Wednesday was Bretzeltag: German Club was selling big German pretzels and hot chocolate. There was also a Japanese flash mob for anyone interested in having a dance. Thursday was the German vs Japanese soccer match for years 7 to 8 on oval, which was well supported with cheer squads. German won 3:2 against the Japanese team. Finally, on Friday students were able to get Japanese tattoos and watch some German Films.
It was a fun week with many students getting involved!
